Dear Scott,
We look forward to your Activity Day Boy's visit on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 5:45 p.m.
As we discussed , this is our tentative schedule for your visit:

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE IN YOUR GROUP:
  1. Has a FamilySearch account (can use a parent account)
  2. Is able to get into their account
  3. Is connected to their tree on FamilySearch.  (Adding their Church membership number to their account is the easiest way to link to the tree.  See the attachment below for help.)

If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 435-232-0788.
Looking forward to meeting you,
Rebecca Conger

The #1 problem individuals experience at the FamilySearch Center is inaccurate usernames and passwords. This can be remedied by bringing completed screenshots of the FamilySearch sign-in page or the Church account sign-in pages like the examples on the next page.

The #2 problem is individuals not being connected to their tree. Adding their Church membership number will automatically link them to their tree.

Preparing for Your Visit

Our goal is to give your group the best experience we can. Here are five things that will make that possible.
1. If group members have a FamilySearch account, make sure they bring their account usernames and passwords. They can also sign in with their Church account information.

2. If group members do not have an account, help them set one up before coming by clicking this link: Create a FamilySearch account (add their membership number) Note: Parents who wish to create an account for a child ages 8-12 can do so by following these instructions: Creating an Account for a Child Under 13

3. Before coming, make sure group members are linked to at least one deceased ancestor on both of their parents’ sides of the family. The easiest way to do this is to add their membership number while making the account. FamilySearch uses the membership records to automatically link them to their tree. If they are not linked in, they will be unable to do all of the discovery activities, which is very discouraging for them. For help click this link: How to add a membership record number in FamilySearch

4. If group members have a smart device to scan a QR code, logging into any of these areas will be much quicker and easier. (Leaders can use their phone to assist other group members to log in.) 5. If group members wish to print names for the temple, they may need their membership number if their account is not connected properly. (They can get this from a member of the bishopric, or on the Tools app.)
